Mikel A. Glavinovich is a member of the firm's litigation department. She specializes in complex business litigation on behalf of businesses of all sizes, and has extensive experience in insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Glavinovich also handles appellate matters, as well as eminent domain actions.
She has negotiated several settlements, and drafted contracts on behalf of joint defense counsel. She has drafted guidelines for insurers to use in the course of settlement negotiation, and drafted insurance policy language for use by national insurance carriers. She has provided pro bono counsel to the SSI Children's Coalition, the Alliance for Children's Rights, FREEPLAY, the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Domestic Violence Project and continues to serve as an attorney proctor for the Redondo Beach Teen Court.
Mikel is a member of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and a founder of the Anchorage Youth Court in Anchorage, Alaska. She is admitted to practice before the State Courts and U.S. District Courts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and has argued before the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Panel.
Mikel graduated from Willamette University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English. Prior to attending college, she served as an Intern in the United States Senate. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1995. While in law school, Mikel received honors in Moot Court and served as Articles Editor of the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law.
