Rick D. Navarrette is a Shareholder in the firm’s Los Angeles office and a member of litigation related practice groups. He specializes in handling a broad range of commercial and business litigation, employment law, construction and tort defense matters. Rick has acted as lead trial counsel in cases involving national and international commercial sales, real and personal property secured transactions, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition in both state and federal courts.
He also has experience handling various matters for public entities clients, including employment cases concerning racial, gender and age discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation and general tort defense matters. Rick has also represented public entity owners in litigation matters involving construction management supervision, errors and omissions in plans or specifications, delays in issuing change orders, scope of work disputes, stop notices, termination and abandonment issues, and other related breach of contract claims.
More recently, he has represented several financial institutions at the trial court and appellate levels in defending wrongful foreclosure, and breach of contract regarding loan modifications, fraud and related lender liability claims, predatory loan origination cases and title insurance matters.
